How to import and export your data, check your storage, manage devices and sign-in methods, and delete your account.
Import
You can bring notes from other apps into Pushany as notes.
In Settings → Data, tap Import under “Import & export”.
Choose the files to import. You can choose more than one.
These files are supported:
Files exported from Simplenote (zip, json)
Markdown and text files (.md, .txt). You can also choose a zip of them.
Imported notes are encrypted on this device before they’re saved. You can’t import on a device that doesn’t have your encryption key.
Notes you imported before are skipped instead of being imported again.
Export
In Settings → Data, choose a format under “Import & export” to export.
Markdown (zip): Puts your notes, tray and checklists into Markdown files. It includes attachments and files you sent to the tray.
Simplenote format (JSON): Puts your notes, tray and checklists into a single file in the same format as Simplenote. It doesn’t include attachments or files.
Checklists are exported as lines with checkboxes. Items in the trash are included too.
Encrypted data is decrypted on your device before it’s exported. The exported file isn’t encrypted, so be careful where you save it.
Anything that can’t be decrypted with this device’s key isn’t included.
Storage
Check how much storage you’re using under Storage in Settings → Data. It’s broken down into sent files, note attachments, text and so on.
Files in the trash count toward storage. When there are files in the trash, use “Empty trash” to delete them right away.
Settings → Devices lists the devices you’ve signed in on. The device you’re using is marked “This device”.
Devices with a bell icon receive notifications. For a device you no longer use, turn notifications off with the “Turn off notifications” icon.
Use Rename to change a device’s name.
Use Delete to remove a device from the list.
Signing out
Use “Sign out” in Settings → Account to sign out of this device. This also removes the encryption key, drafts and other data from this device. After you sign in again, decrypt your data with your recovery key, a passkey or approval from another device.
If you lose a device, tap “Sign out of other devices” in Settings → Account. This signs you out of every device except this one. Passkeys can also be used to sign in, so remove any passkey you don’t recognize.
Sign-in methods and passkeys
You can sign in with Google, GitHub or X. Each sign-in method creates a separate account.
Tap Add under “Sign-in methods” in Settings → Account to link a method. You can then sign in to this account with any linked method. To unlink one, tap Remove.
Add a passkey with “Add passkey” in Settings → Encryption to sign in and unlock your data with your fingerprint or face, even on a new device. If you lose your passkey, you can still sign in with Google or another method.
Change your account name (@name) with Edit in Settings → Account. After you change it, your old @name stays reserved for 90 days.
Under “Delete account” in Settings → Account, tap “Delete account permanently”.
To confirm, type the account name shown, then tap Delete.
Your account is deleted right away, and this can’t be undone.
All your data is deleted, including notes, checklists, tray items, files and registered devices.
Shared notes and checklists that you own are handed over to another member.
The @name of a deleted account stays reserved for 90 days, so no one else can use it.
Your data may remain in backups kept for recovery from failures for about 90 days. It’s deleted automatically after that. For details, see the Privacy Policy.
